...These photos show the alloy calipers used on the 908 race cars (also used on some 914-6 GT cars). The main differences between the 911S and 908 calipers are that the 908 had "thicker brake pads" (caliper bodies were machined further to allow the use of a thicker pad) and the "quick-release mechanism" found on the 908. The caliper cores are otherwise the same...

I just removed that photo, you're correct, you can't really see it the pin in that photo and I don't need it in that photo gallery anyways.
Thank you for pointing that out!

PS: Did you see my hill-climb 908 "Magnesium" calipers? www.pbase.com/9146gt/gt_alloy_calipers_908_magnesium Pretty cool parts and very, very rare...

On your page:
www.pbase.com/9146gt/908_calipers
you show a picture of a '908' caliper on a 907. I wonder if that photo really shows a 908 caliper. There does not appear to be a release pin on the top of the caliper, and if it was there I'm sure it would be visible. Second, one can see a small dark spot on the side of the caliper, and I suspect it may actually be the clip for the U-pin on the caliper shown here (my caliper, DaveP):

Notice the similarities to the 910 caliper.
