A 1992-Grammy photo for our SF Symphony Chorus' Carmina Burana

Davies Hall - San Francisco, California,

In a fit of nostalgia, I found a photo taken of some of us with our San Francisco Symphony Chorus choral-recording Grammy for the Orff "Carmina Burana" received in 1993.
This was for "Best Performance of a Choral Work" in the 35th annual Grammy awards for recordings in 1992, with the San Francisco Symphony directed by Herbert Blomstedt and prepared by Vance George. There were over 200 people singing, including the SF Boy's Chorus.
Since I was a charter member (1972) I've got a banner on me :-).  Third person in middle row above.

If interested, you can hear snippets at this page

SIDE note: We watched the awards show on TV, and our chorus director collected the award in between speeches by Eric Clapton, winner of Best Song, and Michael Jackson, who gave an odd 20 minute speech.  Placido Domingo, I think (I may remember wrong there), presented the award to our leader.

SIDE note 2:  Favorites from our 9 performance weeks in our 20th Anniversary year (1992) were 1) the new Bernstein revision of Candide, conducted by David Zinman, with singers Lisa Saffer, Tracey Welborn, Christa Ludwig, Kurt Ollmann, Juliana Gondek et al and 2) and our Alexander Nevsky presented as live soundtrack to a new print of the film at Davies Hall, also conducted by Zinman.  I am still looking for the laser disc version that was available with new soundtrack.
