When I was in Sarajevo, everyone was quite insistent that I had to go to Mostar. So, I went to Mostar. It is an interesting little town, most famous for the 16th century bridge that the Croats were thoughtful enough to destroy for no good reason during the insanity that gripped this area in the 90s. It is currently being rebuilt, a process you can watch on FIVE live webcams at www.starimost.telecoms.ba, if you ever find yourself to be terribly, terribly bored.
All in all, I had a lot of fun in Mostar, and recommend it highly if you're ever in the Balkans. But keep in mind that Hercegovina is a desert. I don't think it droped below 100 degrees the entire time I was there. They said it was as hot as its been in fifty years, and the river was kind of low, but it is a desert.
