I have recently embarked on tracing my Inis Oirthir McFadden roots and want to thank you for the great photos of Inishirrer Island. hi absolutely delighted to have found these pics today, especially of innishirrer, where my mother, ellen mcfadden was born in 1907 & lived on the island for about 8years before relocating to bloody foreland. i set foot on the island around 1955, i was inly 5 years old, but can remember very little except the curragh boat & pier at port arthur. tearfully, i imagined my mother in the old school house as a child. i wish she was still alive to see these wonderful pics. thank you so much for posting them. god bless.

My dad was from Rutland and my husband's grandmother was from Tuperkeen. We visited the area on our honeymoon in 1996. Hope to get back someday soon with my children

Hello Roger; Absolutely loved the photographs! My Currie (Curry) ancestors are said to have come from Donegal to Scotland in the 1830/40's. There were four of them; Catherine Curry was the eldest of them at 45:John 26:James and Patrick both 20. They lived in digs with Thomas Cunningham 20,John Caniffin 20, and John McGough or McGoughie. When in Scotland they worked as Coal Merchants. Other than this I know little else. Can you shed any light on these people at all? Thanks and all the very best to you an yours. Dominic James Currie.

I believe my grandmother Gallagher's family came from Inishkeeragh after between 1847 and 1867. Are there any Gallagher's left in the area? I don't know if the whole family came to the US. I plan to go to Co.Donegal within this year. Where would I search for relatives? Where are church records kept? Thanks, Michelle Pomada

i am sure that old post office belongs to a family called Magonnogal or Magonagel. at least that was the last person who was in it in 2004. I had tea in the house with him on a winters night in November when he was spending the winter there. Lovely pics all the same.

I found these beautiful pictures the other day on the internet and I would like to download some and have them printed for my wall.... would you allow me to do that or do I have to pay someone for the honor of doing this. You have captured my heart.... my Irish relatives apparently are from Arron ?? (an island??) these pictures remind me of my grandmothers stories of her relatives in Ireland. I know that my Irish is very important in my life and I guess I should trace my relatives. Are there any American Irish people out there that have actually found "lost" relatives that may even be.... 4th or 6th generation cousins???? What is the experience like???? Are the Irish lost relatives like you??? Do they look like you??? Are they interested in learning about an American Irish "relative"?????? If any of you could guide me and please be honest about how the Irish relatives receive you. Thank you again for the great pictures and thank you to anyone that has some guidence information.... I live on the other side of the Atlantic, painting and taking photos. Nice to see pictures from my ancestors land. One came from Doe, Donegal and John William Curry (#1) came from Tully Corbett in Moneghan. Im John William Curry (#3 cause it skips generations (IE JW WJ JW etc)) from Westerly Rhode Island USA
