It seemed we have an appreciation for things wabi-sabi and didn’t even know what it was or that it
even had a name.

As photographers, we can, and often do, appreciate the beauty in things not typically viewed as
beautiful. We find beauty in things imperfect or overlooked and capture it in photos. Barbara has
always had an appreciation for these types of subjects, but only since taking up photography has she
been able to share the “beauty” she sees. Barbara and I both went through my archives looking for
different examples of images that could be described as wabi-sabi.
