Moraine Lake sits between Forbidden and Eldorado peaks, at the head of the W fork of Thunder Creek. The lines on the frozen lake surface are probably caused by water seeping through cracks in the ice. My guess is that the cracks are caused by small fluctuations in the lake level. Later in the season, with deeper snow, no cracks or lines will be visible. This view looks generally to the west.
