Hi there chyeheng!

I am a street artist from Stuttgart, Germany (www.kristallmagier.com), and would like to ask you a question. Together with a digeridoo player (Dieter Iby, of didgeridoomusic.de), I would like to produce a music CD of our street performances. For the front cover foto, we need a picture of a road goint on in eternity, a rare thing in crowded germany indeed. Using google images, I found your picture "endless road" http://www.pbase.com/chyeheng/image/21887517).

Thus I would like to ask your permission to use that picture in our CD cover, altered of course. We cannot offer you a monetary reward (street art is not paying much), but of course you'll get a mention in the booklet, and all the good karma that supporting art brings.

Hoping for your response and with best regards from germany

Ruven Nagel

Oh, I see. No, that is taken with the Sigma 55-200mm which I sold after holding it a while. Yes the OM lense will re-live their 2nd life on the E-series. I have quite a sample of photo taking using the OM 50mm f1.8 (you can search under pBase)
Will from Dallas 10-Jun-2006 04:05
I was referring to this onehttp://www.pbase.com/chyeheng/image/45521409 (the Peach Season). It says that the shot is taken at 200mm. Is this also your Vivitar lens?

So if I get the 4/3-OM adapter, I can use all Zuiko OM lenses with my E-300? that's sweet.
chyeheng10-Jun-2006 00:34
Will, if you are refering to the E-1 samples, that is done using the Vivitar 200mm F3.5 with a 4/3-OM adapter. It is a manual focusing lens that is build also like a tank. I was extremely happy use the 40-150mm with E-300, check my Austria shots.
Will from Dallas 09-Jun-2006 23:44
Hi Chyecheng,

I wonder which lens did you use with your 200mm shots?
I think i've pushed the stock lens that comes with the E-300 (14-45mm)

Keep posting your pictures, I have you in my bookmarks.

I forgot to mention the forum at Photocamel.com. Funny name but a great place and there are many, many great Olympus dSLR users on the boards. Come check it out.

Just figured out the comment managment of my Pbase account. You asked about the black background of one of my images, first, thank you for the comment. I knew I had recognized your site, I must have run across it in the E300 galleries. I learned the foam core board technique in the Nikon Talk forum at DPReview.com. There is a group called FCAS and they specialize in Foam Core shots. I used a piece of black foam core board and small homemade lightbox to shoot the daisy. I then used PSCS to isolate the bgrd and completly desaturate it. It can be long process but the result can be astounding.

I've been learning about photography on my owm for more than 5 years and have shot more than 50 rows of films and slides. I thought I'm good enough but I was wrong. The equipment we used could be the same but how we see things might be very different. I have better keep up with my way of "seeing" things. You're great!

Thanks for sharing those photos.

I found your website when i was browsing thru to check out C-750... and started browsing thru pix u took... So would like to check out your comments on this camera (C-750) compared to C-5050? I'm considered a beginner, so if u r free... would like your comments... having to see you taking pix with diff model of camera.

Hi,
Great pictures!

The pictures are really nice and professional....postcard standard!
Ever thought of selling them to make postcard? Don't waste.

You should also develop them into prints...

Embarrassed that I have not mastered olympus that well...and of course i lack the artistic flair....

Well done! Susan

Hi,

I just bought a C-730 and I m quite happy with the outdoor shots and powerful features only. However I am disappointed with the low lighting shots whether indoor or outdoor they are either blur or noisy. Do you have advise on this?

Majority of your close up shots whether indoor or outdoor do you use the optical zoom + a tripod? As I notice anything above 4-5X optical zoom you really need a steady hand and a few attempts maybe a tripod to get clear photos. One thing lacking with a 10X optical zoom, Olympus should have included an image stabliser and a apperature like C5050 which has F1.8 for clearer pictures.

Lastly, under what conditions does the camera determines ISO64 as we can only set it to ISO 100 or automatic?

Thanks.
chyeheng13-Feb-2003 08:44
Hi, forget that keyboard shot. It was a mistake of mine :)
Also the picture quality that I selected for some of the shots are very very low (< 1
Megapixel with normal jpg compression). For low noise, set to HQ, ISO 64/100, sufficient
light (or flash), steady hand support when zoom. It is a very powerful camera and I learn
to love it not on first sight.

Check my Western_Australia album to see the power of the C-730. It is a mix of 5050 and
730, just enable the exif view to check. (some case of more noise was due to lower quality
in consideration of memory card space)
CYH 13-Feb-2003 08:28
Hi,
I've see some pics take by your C730 and I like them.
I just hear about that C730's pics quality is not so good. And some of your C730 pics seem to be more noises. Ther are not so clear, especially that on "keyboard".
Can you tell me something more about your C730? Is it difficult to take a good pic by using C730? Is it the white balance works accurately at anytime?
Someboy says it's hard to take good pics by using C730's P mode because it gives a slow shutter speed and easy cause noise and blur. Do you have same feeling? They say if you use the A mode, the shutter speed would be faster and more easily to produce nice pics.

Just a quick note to tell you thanks for sharing these with us. We enjoyed them - they evoked many memories, and really struck a cord.
Thanks,
Richard

i am planning to buy c730, but doubt with the review & comment saying this camera
unable to deliver sharp & focus image. some grainny & high noise.
but i still prefer it's features & ultra zoom.
can you advise me how is the image quality compare to others brand/ model which
has similar price range.
thanks.

I used my own set of actions for the frames but the directions were provided at another web site. It's my own variation based on what others had previously posted in the Retouching Forum at dpreview.com.
