This is Maddie after the first full day of school and then her private music lesson with a new teacher.
She found out to play her violin well she can't have her long nails.
She has lots of homework already and the fact that summer is over has sunk in.
I asked her for one of her famous smiles and even as bad as she felt, she turned it on, snap, just like that!

Cute! I like seeing both -- tells the story well. Beautiful girl. I remember well the years I played cello for orchestra and lessons -- at first I kept my nails trimmed like "they" wanted, but after a few years I got tired of it and let them grow -- and STILL could play the pants off anyone. (But I digress) Hope she enjoys school and the violin! (Which I also used to play and adore)
