The people of this region have modernized, yet they remain connected to their ancient traditions. The culture of the Inupiaq reaches back in an unbroked chain to the dawn of human history.

Hello,

Just trying to find some info. out if possible. I have a drawing by Leo Schaeffer. I am having trouble finding out who this is. Could it be Leo Schaeffer the State Representative from your site? Did he draw as a hobby possibly? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

James, It was good to hear you on the radio call in. Hope everything went well with your surgery. The Cannon I bought from you is working fine and I have taken alot of photos with it down here in the Mohave Desert. We are fine but missing Alaska (Kotzebue) very much. At least we have lake Havasu to swim and boat on. Best of health to you.

Having lived in Kotz most of my life, seeing these pics makes me realize how unique our lifestyle is in relation to the rest of the world. Your eye for composition is great. Keep adding more.

I landed on your site from a search for the Canon 15 fisheye. I spent over an hour devouring the photos on your site and lost all interest in lenses, cameras, and dinner. All I can say is WOW. You have a great gallery that I've bookmarked. I love photos that tell a story. Your photos do just that. Your short narrative is like icing on the cake.

i lived in kotzebue for 1 year in 2002 its great to have these pictures to show my family and friends back home in ireland -good job.
