The woodcutter

Prozor, Bosnia

I wish I knew what happened to this guy. He was cutting wood and making the extremely neat stacks visible in the background. In late '92 or maybe Jan. '93 the Croats attacked the Muslims living in Prozor, and this man must have been driven out. The last time I saw the woodlot, the stacks he made were still there, untouched. The uniform on the line is probably from the Bosnian Army, but the grafitti on the wall of his house was for Dinamo, the Zagreb football team. Prozor is the gnarliest town in Central Bosnia. My advice is don't run out of gas in Prozor.

great capture, and the story.
