Ha I appeared on the front page of the 'Cyprus Mail' carrying out the old fellas body, we took it to the mosque in Stari Bila if I remember correctly there were two of us medics and two lads from 1PWO.

Since it's the 30th anniversary, I'll mention that LCpl Bingley's brother was killed at Goose Green while serving with 2 PARA.

Hadn't realised you were with us, James. This story made front page of the Times on 20 May '93. On 19 May I was awoken by gunfire and mortars at 5am. Within 10 mins or so we had deployed but this small scale example of ethnic cleansing was over. The HVO had taken about ten houses in Bazen, shooting dead one elderly man (father of Munib xxx?) and set fire to them before disappearing, the other Muslim occupants fled over the road to seek refuge next to our lodgings. Here Cpl Quantock and LCpl Bingley with me are checking the houses for further bodies, while my wagon keeps an eye on the ABiH positions behind the kiosk. This sort of thing was a daily occurence for many months all over central Bosnia.
