Lloyd Jackson and Walter Sampson drilled holes in the ice so the underwater video camera could search for clues to what happened. The air boat with two aboard ventured into the channel off Lockheart Point and both people were lost. The ice in this spot was about 6 inches thick. Temperature was around zero F.
