Campbell Creek greenbelt is great moose habitat...except for the roads. During the summer of 2010 three cows with calves were hit by cars and had to be put down. That left the calves as orphans. Heading into winter I still see the calves. I doubt they'll survive until spring. This is a yearling cow with no calves. She's quite friendly and unafraid of me. (add-on March 14: all six orphan calves not only made it through the winter but look extremely healthy.)
