In the middle of Vitez's Mahalo neighborhood was a blown-out building which served as a sort of cafe. When you'd stop in the woman in the photo very graciously served coffee. The neighborhood was under constant seige, and the snipers were close enough that foreign journalists didn't have to worry about getting shot. The Croats knew who they were shooting at and didn't shoot at outsiders.
