Just When…

… you thought it was safe to go into the garden!

This big handsome creature lives under one of the planter boxes in the garden!
At first I thought it was a smaller but still fairly large spider sitting next to a snail shell.
When the whole thing moved as one I realized it was a really big hairy spider!
Yeah! I jumped back and did what I always do.
I put the planter back and went and got a camera!
RBHS reluctantly posed for me!
Even coxed a smile from it, at least I think it’s a smile!
Then carefully put the planter back so it could continue being a nightmare in it’s world!
Still… whenever I walk past that planter? I’ll wonder… is my RBHS okay?

I'd run the other direction, in search of some clean underwear.......

I had absolutely no idea spiders enjoyed a portrait session
until I saw your photos. V.
It's a smile. I'm almost sure of it.

The RBHS looks even scarier in your image. Best leave the planter where it is. "V"

Wow! Some people would move out of sate from that one. Politely ask him what name he goes by..

You better be glad you are Ok! LOL If the spider were as big as it looks in the photo, we would all be in danger. Will I have a nightmare tonight? :) Great shot, John. And bravo for going back to capture it....in pictures.
