8th March

A submarine getting the attention of both a tug and the police boat,
not sure what it was doing but the tug left when i left
and the police boat was left to escort it to where ever it was heading.

They could of just been playing navy games
because that red tower in the pic is often used for that :-)

1/500s f/4.5 at 63.0mm iso50 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Used to sail on the Clyde, and the police and Navy escort boats used to enjoy rushing up and down creating uncomfortable bow waves!! Sure it's one of ours :)

Hmmm wonder what it was up to?? Cool pic though, I've never seen a submarine in real life myself, only on films!!

And I bet the trawlers are keeping well out of the way!

I'm sure that's me on the beach waving!

Nice to have the tug to give scale to the sub. In the past I have combined two identical layers of pics like this using multiply in PS to improve the contrast - might be worth a play.

You certainly get some diverse subjects up there in Bute.

It's not yellow...LOL !!

A sunny day water shot with haze - same as mine today.
Pity I couldn't have had a sub in mine.

Nice pic Zak, but it has got the dreaded red X from my end. I have looked around the nuclear powered sub Conquerer - tiny inside...

Nah, not a Polaris boat. Too small, and I don't think there are any of them left in service?

It's a Royal Navy "Swiftsure"-class from the looks of it. http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/2300.html

Might be a POLARIS submarine ;-) Maybe it popped up for directions because it was lost. You'd never know what kind of secret goings on were taking place under water...
