wow, these shots are gorgeous. I have the dsc-h5 and the 1.7x tele lens but i've been unable to get good moon shots. I put it on 5MP and on smart zoom and got okay photos but nothing like yours. i'm just curious, what mode (profile, manual, ect) was your camera on at the time you took these?

any other tips you can offer for me? I'd really appreciate it, i'm struggling with moon photos.

Thank you Tim. For this shot, I used the Sony HD1758 1.7x telephoto extender attached to the DSC-H5, which brings the optical zoom range of the H5 from 432mm to 720mm. I also used some Smart Zoom, by setting the camera to 5MP instead of 7.2MP, which provides slightly more zoom without uprezzing the photo...total optical zoom of approx. 900mm. I cropped about 20% for the final pic. The H5 can practically be a telescope!

I just bought the H5. I have had the DSCF717 for years. Did you use a telescope to get this picture? This is incredible.
