Blood red!
Lots of experimenting going on with all 3 shots
today, lots of "de"ing to get the colours right
and minimise glare - a perennial problem under
our sunny skies - although the red was in the shade
the others weren't.
Those red "x's" again!
Here's a rugosa in sepia
and a lovely soft image of Oktavius Weld - a foundling rose

Horses grazing
I've been visiting a rose nursery today taking
photos of roses I don't have growing in my
rose garden for a project I'm working on.
I pass through the Southern Vales
and it was a pleasant summery day, pure blue skies
some scenes took the eye including these horses.
For those who can't take the glare, here they
are in sepia...
some wine grapes - all the vines are LOADED
and grape pickers are beginning to turn up
for the annual harvest...
and a sign that I've been meaning to stop and shoot
for quite a while - Breakneck Creek!

In the vicinity of the shed...
Today I took shots of things rusty or in the
vicinity of the shed...

..and I was all set up with all the rusty bits and pieces
when Dick called my attention to what he'd been harvesting
in the garden. This picture will take you to the right gallery
Just a single...
Our rose garden is quite colourful right now
after some very good drops of rain
Yesterday I took these two shots
while at our daughters having
an al fresco tea
those red x's again!
a beetle and an avocado on a tree

Self portrait
A bit of artwork by our 3rd grandson
its a portrait of himself. His Mum
helped draw the hair. Laine will
know which grandson this one is!
We sat al fresco for our evening meal
here's a couple of bug catchers that
were in use...

Curiosity
Not very good weather for the outdoors today
hot and humid alternating with heavy rain
and a forecast for thundersqualls. Here's a
shot I took 15 mins ago - Sheila must have sent
the dark clouds over our way!
and a rose I processed earlier today
Paul Bocuse
I no sooner downloaded my pad that the storm arrived!

Out to dinner
Our lunchtime venue yesterday while entertaining
our visitor from Somerset England.
Another view inside the restaurant
and another shot of the old farm gate with
the sign on "Please shut the gate"
Pictures of the wine we chose and the door to the tasting
rooms were featured in yesterday's PAD (next)

Farm gate
We looked after a traveller from the U.K. today
picking her up from her daughter's farm
and taking her out to lunch with us
in the Southern Vales wine growing area.

***
Lunch at Marienberg winery's restaurant after
some wine tasting to select the wine for our table.
Our visitor left Somerset enduring -2C and today's
temperature was 31C which our visitor thought was
rather hot!
Roses...
Decided to feature my favourite flower today
though I did have it in mind to display
some hanging bark, which probably would
have bored everyone to tears...
a cluster of fully opened blooms
and a shy young miss...

The male domain
A good place for disappearing in
one can't see inside without
going right over to the shed!
Here the colourful version
and with the "lights on" or psd
Note the rusty old fridge - that fridge is over 40 years old
and still works like a charm - it will freeze the drinks
or cauliflowers if we don't keep an eye on it!

Gardening tools
Had a lovely day pottering around in the garden
(mostly near the house since the snake sighting)
Here's a couple of others shots in
similar vein...

Leisure time...
A very pleasant way to fill in a half hour here and there...
& some "clues"
