A quiet spot by the side of the river
This is looking across to the other bank and into the state of New South Wales. Someone lives there in a very quiet place - and would be able to see & hear the bird life and paddle boats going past daily.

A shed for carts and horse equipment
A very basic structure by today's standards...

A quiet spot by the river
The river winds its way past the Chaffey cottages, a quiet day - quite cold and bleak on the day we visited.

Outside amenities, on the side verandah
Including a wash trough and what looked to be somewhere to keep the coal! I'm not sure what is up the other end of the verandah with wheels - does anyone know?
A suggestion from Poochdad that it might be an old wringer (or mangle), and I think he's right!

Outside amenity and windmill for water
The "long drop" as we call them in Australia!

The "spotted Emu Bush" Eremophila maculata
Growing in the gardens of the collection of cottages along with a yellow variety. These strangely named plants are members of the genus Eremophila, which means 'desert-loving'. They are found in semi-arid areas where the climate is harsh and plant variety is generally limited. The seeds are very hard and it is said that they have to pass through an emu's digestive system before they will germinate, giving rise to their common name.

Another cottage and attached museum building
This shot gives the feeling of the setting these cottages have been set in - on the original homesite of the Chaffey brothers.

The Old Mildura Homestead
The homestead is an accurate reconstruction of the first home built in Mildura ‘circa 1847’ and is built on the site of the original ‘Mildura’ pastoral lease and station. Graves nearby include those of some members of the Chaffey pioneering family, Canadian brothers George and WB Chaffey.
Mildura resort
I had some fun photographing the water feature, here are a few.
