Ancient tree

At home

Most of the trees already on our property when we moved here are E. Leucoxylon, the S.A. Blue Gum, but this one may be a Camaldulensis,
or River Red Gum. We have no idea of the age, but one featured on Wikipedia that looks just like ours is said to be 700 years of age.
Ours grow near our front gate and there is often a koala having a sleep during the
day. People have stopped their car to take photos many times.

This is a grand old gum tree indeed, Von, and I like your image a lot.

You live in an exceptional place! What a gorgeous tree, and the potential age makes it even more amazing... and the icing on the cake, having a koala in the tree! V

What a tree - Jeff said it all…
I love trees and this is such a great example and so well presented, Yvonne!

There is nothing greater than a stately tree.
For me they really seem to anchor the world in a way it is hard to state.
This is such an amazing photograph. I just love it

The green tint is really interesting here; it seems to suit the kind of bark on this type. Indeed it suits the whole tree, though whether I'm also influenced by knowing the green of the leaves in the natural state is an open question.
