Qinling is not only northermost home to giant pandas, but also to golden monkeys, the latter enjoying a population of 3800 to 4000. The Chanqing National Nature Reserve is a densely populated area for golden monkeys usually dwelling at an altitude of 1,500 to 3,000 meters.
