September 20 (Monday): Sanlitun (三里屯) & AFunTi Xinjiang Restaurant
In the morning Maggie & Michelle who took a day off attended the free cooking class at the service apartment between 10:30 and 12:30 (Polenta with Spinach and Mushroom plus making Mooncake). They managed to learn how to make mooncake (four different styles) but had no time (they left around 12:40) for the polenta.
Due to the rainy weather condition we decided against going to the North Sea Park instead we went to Sanlitun (三里屯) and lunched at the Spice Spirit (麻辣誘惑 Szechuan style) @ the Village (Swire Place).
In the evening we went to AFunTi Restaurant (recommended by my classmate) for the Xinjiang Wei Ethnic music and food. We ordered the roasted mutton joints and lamb kebabs which were not bad. But its primary attraction remains the skilled musicians and dancers from Central Asia including the belly dance and cabaret performances. Advance booking is recommended and one should arrive at the place preferably before 18:30.
