Melarkode, Chittilancherry, Kerala

God's own country, Kerala is known for its greenery and its monsoons. We saw both on our trip. The rain gods
however were kind to us, and gave us intermittent clear skies. Kerala is fast becoming India's
biggest tourist attraction. The calmness of the area, the natural beauty, the theraputic waters
and ancient medicinal and massage techniques serve as a rejuvantor for the body, mind and soul.

Melarkode village is located about 30kms from Palakkad town and is my father's ancestral
village. The village has no more than a 100 houses and is divided into three parts each with
its own temple. An "Utsavam" or festival is celebrated every year during the month of May.
It is a week long event and natives of this village, spread all over India make it a point to be
home during this time of the year.

Chittilancherry is another village near Melarkode, and it here that our family deity resides. There
is a beautiful temple, built in typical Kerala style, and home to the Goddess Chittilancherry
Bhagavathi. The temple offers peace and quiet within the natural green surroundings of Kerala.
The village has recently gained fame, being the native place of Shashi Tharoor, India's nomination
for the post of UN Secretary General, announced on June 15, 2006. Read more...

why u didnt take the beutiful sceen of munnar and other beutiful lakes ans beautiful plases of kerala,in world tourist plase kerala is first frm india u know.and 6 th frm world.so either u should add marvelloues sceens of kerala or leave dis pic.kerala is first litterasy in india as well as 95% litteracy in india,in india kerala people r brilliant and brilliant state.good climate,for example tajmahal is good to see,bt agra is full of dirty,

i m nizar now in saudi arabi,bt my ste is kerala,,bt u didnt get the good pic of kerala,just some temples,u didnt go to cochin,,known as queen of arabian sea&allappuzha,known as veniese of east and didnt visited amazing plases of kerala,munnar etc,,,so take a tour to kerala again ,i vizited almost all over in india,bti felt kerala is only gods own country by all means,my mail id is nizar.khan@rocketmail.com

Hi, It was very nice and beautiful snaps of my village,i had been there last year, our family temple is the Thekkegramam Ganapati temple.I am grandson of late M.A Vaidyanathan.
