I apologize. I need to belay my previous post. That Tucker near Eugene Oregon was powered by a 1964 FoMoCo (Mercury) 390 big block and three speed automatic befor it was sold to the gentleman in California. It was previous to the current setup that it had a GM (Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick) engine and automatic trans in it. And the man who owned it in Oregon had it since the mid fifties but it met it's final status of front engine Ford power in the early 70's. Sorry to fill up your forum board, just wanted my info to be accurate and true. And it was sold to it's current owner in California on 8/20/07 for a matter of $202,700. And the Springfield Oregon former owners name who hacked up car 1046 was Nick Jenin. Just wanted to get that straight!

In response to "TUCKER SPOTTING" I live in Oregon and that Tucker you saw is in rural Springfield, near Eugene. I live in Corvallis about 40 miles north of it's location. I cannot remember the name of the guy who owned it but it was bought by him in the early 70's and is just the Tucker body on a 64 Buick cut down frame. It has a POB Wildcat big block in the front and a three speed automatic. A crying shame really. The body is legit but that is all. Even the seats are out of the old Buick. It was sold to a collector in California in 2009. There was a story about it in our local paper. Just wanted to put you in the "blink" cause I'm a Tucker enthusiast aswell :-)

This car was sooo ahead of it's time!!! While watching the movie I was so excited with the accomplishments of ALL THE MEN that poured their heart and soul into this well thought out piece of machinery!! Yes...its a crying shame. Can you imagine what they would look like NOW!!!!????

it is real shame that we in america had a government that would be influnced by people in high places to keeep a beautiful car like this from ever having a chance to prove itself.

WAS THIS OR ANY OTHER AMERICAN CAR EVER MADE WITH A REAR ENGINE?

I was in the movie "Tucker" just as an individual that walked across the street in a couple of scenes. I was working in Oakland, California and watched as they did some of the shooting of this movie. I think the car is beautiful.

Tucker was a genius. He had balls. And if it wasn't for the fear he struck into the "suits" at the Big 3 Automakers in Detroit we might have had some amazing autos from Tucker and his good people. Politics killed this great car!! What a shame.! Ron Kongslie from Oregon
