I began taking and developing B&W photos back in high school in the 1980's. After leaving college, I met up with Slug via a mutual friend in the mid nineties. Turns out we both wanted to place our photos on line in some sort of permanent database, and also help share them. I began to travel at the time and this sounded like a perfect way to save my memories and experiences. Slug made this site, I did a bit of trouble-shooting early on, and he was kind enough to let me use this spot, and here we are more than two decades later. Thank you very much, Chuck!
I was able to bring a few of my old film photos over, and would still use film to this day if not for the time and the cost. Until about 2007, I never was comfortable with any digital camera I owned, with the possible exception of my old Nikon D2H. Then Fuji, Olympus and Sony produced a few that got my attention. I now use a full frame Sony A7, and Olympus bodies, often with adapted lenses. It feels a lot like my old Minoltas and Nikons in use, and produces similar imagery(with just a bit more resolution, of course). I prefer street and landscape photography. I rarely use flash, and try my best with available light. Many of my images are mostly memories. So you'll see a lot of stuff here that makes little sense to anyone aside from myself. I'm very much a fan of the Sontag ideal of collecting the world via photographs and I try not to disturb the subject.
If you wanna see the silly stuff I do on you tube: https://www.youtube.com/user/rtpwyk/videos
Cheers and enjoy!
