The Opposing Solo, Lt. C.J. Simonsen (USN), accelerates to takeoff speed,
climbs to a low altitude just above the runway,
retracts the gear and flaps, then abruptly pulls
into a steep climb to 4,000 feet. The aircraft
rolls 180 degrees on its back to complete the
inverted maneuver.
