Friday self portrait

This study of youth and age superimposes the carved mahogony silhouette my Dad made of me at age 10 onto a shadow my 64 year-old head cast in this morning's sunlight. The wooden silhouette spent its formative years between my two sisters' similar silhouettes on the stern of our family sailboat named "Harem." Politically incorrect as that name would be today, in the early 1950s we thought it was pretty cute. How times and consciousness change.
Thank goodness.
