Garden Spider

This was a challenging shot for me, because for one thing, I am EXTREMELY bug-a-phobic. Also, I was standing on a wobbly step stool, shooting through a wet screen. I like it anyway, because it looks like s/he's saying, "What are you looking at?"

The screen and coloration through the screen really lifts this shot to a special level. You said you are shooting through the screen? It sure looks as if the spider is closer to the camera and the screen beyond. Great effect.

Yes, some creatures make awful looking models but you've created a great looking portrait.
