The purpose of this gallery is to document vagrant bird records within Australia and its territories. All images are of birds photographed within Australia. Some images that are displayed here are the only ones ever captured of the species in the region. Given the aim of this gallery and the nature of rare bird sightings the standard for inclusion here is much lower than in any of our other galleries. Where two images of the same species appear these images represent different records (e.g. different sites or different years).
