The Daintree rainforest is a small sliver of land in far north Queensland, Australia, and is under increasing threat of significant damage. We know so little about this intricate environment, yet it is fast being loved to death by those who enjoy the area and neglected beyond recovery by those with an obligation to ensure its long term survival. Uncontrolled development, inappropriate tourism ventures, and a distinct lack of funding to adequately manage the ecosystems of those areas under protection by government bodies, have combined to create a looming disaster in one of Australia’s most beautiful places.
As such, 20% of the fee received for the use of any of these images will be donated to Rainforest Rescue. Rainforest Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation involved in land buy-back, rehabilitation and conservation of the highly sensitive rainforests of the Daintree region. For information on purchasing images please leave a private guestbook entry.
