Jim, I enjoyed your Eastern Washington gallery and your Moab area photos. I'm adding photos to an eastern Washington gallery too: (mostly landscape explorations).

I was thinking exactly the same thing as I viewed your galleries. The stream, on which I commented, was where I wanted to go. Thank you for your generous message.

You have quite a collection of pictures here. I just began to scratch the surface and spent some time looking at your Washington Pictures. I'm from the Seattle area and grew up in a lot of those places. From Sultan to Port Angeles and from Leavenworth to Spokane, you have some really great shots accross the seasons. I really enjoyed all the colors that you did such a great job of showcasing. I always forget that the northwest is not just two colors (grey and green ;) I do miss it up there.

I appreciate your comments about my gallery. I look forward to getting some interesting shots up from Northern California.

Take Care,

I would have to say that I am learning some real compositional techniques from your galleries. I don't do much shooting myself in the winter, but hope to be able to get around better this coming cold season, and get out and experiment. Take care and thanks for your kind words on my latest gallery. loa..

thanks for your help on c8080

. . . so I've disciplined myself to change the settings back to my personal preferences as soon as I finish shooting with anything different. I still forget occasionally, but that works for me most of the time.

I also have MyMode 1 set to my normal settings so I can change in a hurry if need be.

There just isn't any easy, foolproof way.

Hi Jim, Have just recently checked my book, I have been very slack in this department :-)
Thanks for your visit and your kind comments.
May I say the same thing about your pics. Excellent shots and well worth the look.
Thanks again.

Hello, Jim,
I appreciate your nice comment on my pbase site. I checked out a lot of your pictures and you have some nice mill pictures also. It appears that you use a variety of cameras also, even seems that you are shooting some film still. I collect old cameras but as of late I am only shooting digital. I have only had my Fuzzy for a while and have been shooting my UZi for a couple of years.
Thanks again for your comments

Hi Jim,

You recently responded to a question I had in dpreview about the Oly c8080. Thank you! I realized after replying there that I neglected to compliment you on your pBase gallery, which I like very much, especially the galleries of the Southwest! The only pics I've taken there is at the Valley of Fire near Las Vegas. I hope to get back. Anyway, very nice galleries!
Joao Serejo 18-Apr-2004 21:08
Hi Jim, thanks so much for your feedback! Of course I will keep posting in dPreview, this way I learn and reach places like your pbase photo gallery. I admire your pictures, in general and the precision work we can feel behind each one. The photo “Silver frost along the Little Spokane River” almost make me chill here in Lisbon. All the best for you and your work.

Mahalo (Thanks), for stopping by. Just wanted to see if you remembered any Hawaiian phrases. Hope you and your family make it back to the islands. Lots of changes, some good, some bad, que sera, sera.

Yes, not too surprisingly, the pictures of pretty girls garner the most hits invariably. The ones with males (boogie boarding, surfing or even kids playing) just don't get the same level of attention. Must say something about who visits these sites.
Flowers do seem to draw a lot of attention though. Oh well , I just post 'em as I see 'em. ;-)

I'm a sucker for lighthouse pictures, saw some of yours in Washington state and you did a wonderful job capturing the mood...

I love your work. I have also used a Canon F1N. Now I am using a Drebel. I am planning on scanning some more of my F1N slides from years back. Keep up the great work.

Some very nice travel photography, you capture the life of out of the way locations with great detail and composition.
