March 1 - Wilson Creek, South Carolina

Oconee County - Wilson Creek empties into Bee Cove Creek below the waterfalls listed on my web site. Bernie had been scoping this area out for a while and wanted to see if there were any falls on Wilson Creek. The topo indicates that there may be. The way in is the same as for Bee Cove, but when Bernie did recon a few weeks ago, he said he thought a vehicle could make it down the old forest road. The very narrow road is passable in a high clearance 4x4, but you'll probably end up with scratches on your vehicle. Go at your own risk. Bernie made it with no problems and we parked within 10 minutes of the plunge into Bee Cove.

We first headed to a spot on the map that looked promising. If this little 8-10 footer were 30-40 feet high, it would have been outrageous. After quite a bit if cleaning up, it turned out quite nice anyway.

other sizes: small medium original auto
