We had a fun time at Harry's last night - no pictures to share, sorry. Today I wanted to take Cindy to the place where I fell in love with western North Carolina - the Horsepasture River. Access to the river had changed dramatically since my first visit in the late 1990's. The trail head is now in Gorges State Park. The first waterfall on the river we stopped at was Rainbow Falls. It's one of the finest waterfalls anywhere. If you want to see a rainbow at the base of the falls, get there early. We didn't and also had to suffer with the crappy shooting light. It was another beautiful day to be hiking, though!
