It looked like the weather folks were going to get this forecast right - snow and lots of it. I was kind of playing it by ear until the last minute, but it looked like I'd be heading up to Harry's in Lake Toxaway since he's closer to pretty scenery than I am. Forecast was for the heavy stuff to come in Friday afternoon, so I got on the road mid morning. He already had 3 inches up there while I had about an inch in west Asheville. But by the time I got close to his house, the snow had changed to sleet. Harry has his Christmas tree out on the covered deck, but the snow was blowing in.
