I thought I was going to take a down day today, then head up to Lake Toxaway tomorrow for the rest of the week. Our pal Hal was heading to Harry's, but he decided to come in on Wednesday. So I packed up all my stuff and headed up the mountain a day early. I had some time to kill before Hal got there and Harry got off work, so I drove down Hwy 281 south towards Whitewater Falls. The color was better in this area than where I'd been early in the week. By the time I got to the road side view of the falls, many of the trees were boasting beautiful color.
