Today I met Harry up on the Parkway at Soco Gap. We were going to head into the Smokies, but try something different to begin with. We headed south on the Parkway and turned right towards the Balsam Mountain campground. The road turns to gravel past the campground and is one way. It circles through the mountains with a few trail heads off of it, then turns back to 2 way traffic along Raven Fork, then out to Big Cove Rd in Cherokee. This is what a lot of the road looked like as we dropped in elevation. The color was good at the Parkway and high elevations, but it was too foggy to shoot.
