At about 1.5 miles from the parking area, the trail crosses a foot bridge over the creek. This begins another section of the trail that is loaded with wildflowers with fringed phacelia being the dominant species. I had to hang out here a bit, but that meant the large group was going to catch up with me. You have to be prepared for this hiking a popular Smokies wildflower trail mid day in peak bloom.
