The old fish hatchery was in this area and just up river from that last shot is a low concrete spillway with a gap in the middle. Harry had come down from Lake Toxaway to join me on the hike and noticed a low flow waterfall coming down at this point from across the river. I guess it had been hidden by the leaves on my previous trips. We had to investigate and were able to cross the river without getting our feet too wet. The falls is at least 50' high in 3 sections, but the lower sections are kind of cluttered with logs and limbs. We climbed the steep bank on the right side of the falls and found the top 20' to be rather nice!
