Deep in the heart of Gorges State Park are a series of waterfalls on the mid to lower parts of Bearwallow Creek. I had seen a section of the creek up from Augerhole Rd quite a few years ago and had been wanting to go back, but just to get to the creek requires a 4.5 mile hike down Augerhole Rd which drops 1000' in elevation along the way. There are 2 main waterfalls I didn't see which require a mile of moderate to difficult bushwhacking in and along the creek to see everything, then 1/4 mile straight uphill to a gated old road in good shape which goes back down another mile or so to Augerhole Rd, then back up Augerhole Rd.
What follows is some of what we saw along the creek. There's a small falls right at the road, but it was in the sun and isn't that attractive anyway - so I skipped shooting it. This is part of the next falls up.
