Last stop of the day was the Log Hollow area off of FR475B. Replacement of 2 old wooden bridges on the older road that serves as a trail had been going on for some time. I had heard that the forest service was planning to do some logging in the area and the bridge replacement was needed to support the heavy equipment. It appears the work is completed, but I didn't go farther on the trail past the waterfall to see what was up. The waterfall looked pitiful. The drought has reduced water flow and a lot of debris and fallen trees clutter the right side of the falls.
I'm typing this on the 27th and this area has since seen 3-6 inches or more of rain from what's left of Fay. I wish I could head out now and catch some of the waterfalls with a lot of water, but I have to work tonight and tomorrow night :( I'll be out this week end to see what I can see...
