We knew we had to be getting close to the river, and we were. The final cascade into the river was kind of anticlimatic compared to what we had just seen, but would have been nicer with more water. By now, we were hearing thunder and opted to head back up the same way we came. Remember that because one wrong turn could get you lost for days.

Anyone not from the Southeast might not know that this area is suffering from exceptional drought. I really hope there is minimal destruction in Florida from what should become Hurricane Fay, but the projected path should bring us some desperately needed rain.
