Aug 14: How old?

There was a thread on a popular on-line photography forum asking what people took with them, gear wise, when they were out and about. Most replied that they take everything. DSLR body, big tele zoom. Big wide angle zoom, fast prime, flash, diffuser, spare batteries, memory cards etc etc. Me, well I like to travel light. I took this 30 year old camera with me on the trip to WHL to see Spurs today. The more I use this little Olympus, the more I like it. Small, light, quick. It's all I need for most trips. I can focus it with the middle finger of my left hand and quicker than most digicams, while the wind on lever is in the perfect position for my right thumb. Full manual when I need it, shutter priority auto when I'm in a hurry. They don't make them like this anymore...

other sizes: small medium original auto

Can't beat small and light for quick availability. I think Cartier-Bresson had that idea too! Nice portrait .

I love the the black and white tones in this. Excellent. I don't have a simple little film camera like this. Lately, though I've been carrying less. It seems I hardly use the 80-200 so I leave it home unless I plan for it to be the main lens of the day.

Say what Angela? You don't take much with you when you go out shooting? Hmmm...http://www.pbase.com/image/18200376 I beg to differ! :-)

I don't have as nice a film camera, but my little Olympus Optioplex 550 serves the same need.

Excellent. I travel light, too -- if I lugged all the crap I have around I'd be so weighed down! One body, 2 lenses at most. Your shot has given me an idea though...... ;)

I'm way too jaded to use film. But I do admire you for it. I like my little canon S50 for quick trips.
