Jan 27: The Happy Christmas Bridge

The words “Happy Christmas” have been painted on this bridge all year round for as long as I can remember. We used to pass under it on way to Slough, where my grandparents lived. Every now and then, the authorities paint over it, but the festive message always reappears soon afterwards. It’s less than a mile from the flower on the garage door, which is then a couple of miles from the concrete elephant. I think we’re spoiled for daft local landmarks in Sandhurst!

Today I carried the G2 in a Crumpler bag.

Nice picture, and it makes me all nostalgic. Used to live just around the corner from here (and the other landmarks mentioned) before moving to Vanhcouver.

Thanks Ray, I was just about to say that! It's also the same line that Linda uses when she goes to work by train. Tho if she got this far, she's missed her stop!

Yes, Elizabeth, its a local train on the line connecting Gatwick Airport with Reading, a city west of London. Since the break up of British Rail, our trains are much more colourful:)

Nice colorful picture. That's a cool train up there. Is it a commuter train?

Nice pic, nice story. Great idea for a PAD regular... weird, uh, I mean, unique local landmarks! :)

What a shot. Is there a color in the spectrum not represented here?

Why would anyone paint over such a happy message??
p.s. Today must have been PaD transit day, for anyone who didn't get the memo : )

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a 'crumpler' bag? Nice pic... how long did you wait for a train to come?

Love it! I can feel a 'Crumpler' pic appearing soon!
