Dad gave me an old Kodak Retinette from the 50's when I was 10, and taught me how to use it. A proper camera with manual control of aperture, shutterspeed and focus. It also required a separate light meter - all valuable experience! So now you know who to blame for all these pics...
It's almost impossible to take a picture of my Dad without that "are you sure you know what you're doing with that" look on his face, but after nearly 30 years, I've finally done it!
