A great shot of Terry's finished mural appears on the back of "Fantasy by The Sea" by Tom Moran & Tom Sewell. It was called "Val's Pharmacy". While the building owners spoke to Terry about restoration, he was more interested in painting a new mural. A lot of mural painters, like Rip Cronk, accepted that their work was temporary and looked forward to repainting walls. Rip had an idea he presented to the owners - a new mural with an homage to Terry's work. They opted finally to go with Jonas Never who created "Touch of Venice" which is there today.

It was Rip Cronk who told me that.... so is there a way to restore this mural? Karra

Karra's sources are incorrect. Terry's widow was not contacted by local artists who raised money to restore the mural.

A little update on this mural, painted by Terry Schoonhoven, who also did Venice in the Snow, if any of you guys remember that it was just amazing also. Terry Schoonhoven died of cancer and what I heard a few years ago from another wellknown muralist is that some (local) artists did get the money together to restore this mural on Windward but his widow blocked the project and she has the rights. This is hearsay, but from a knowledgeable source so I believe it is probably close to the truth. -Karra

I saw this mural in the movie "Breathless" in all of its splendor, I'm actually surprised that it is even still there at all.

It really pisses me off that they have let this mural just get all messed up. It really should be restored. It's one of the best we ever had, ever.
