Yet another Happy Holidays picture!
A little bit about myself:
I am currently 28 years old living in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego, California, USA.
I began life as an amateur astronomer, moved on to becoming an artist minor and finally
settled in as a computer scientist with a photography hobby in the background.
My photography hobby began in 1985 with a cheap $10 camera that uses 110 films.
Would you believe that is the only camera in our house? All of our pictures were taken
with that tiny camera until the flash unit died in the early 90s. We then upgraded to a
Canon autofocus 35mm point and shoot camera with a humongous 2x zoom: 35mm-70mm.
Who would have thought we needed that much zoom after a lifetime of using cameras with
no zoom. Taking pictures took on a new meaning for me.
Not until the beginning of 1999 did I bought a digital camera, the Epson PhotoPC 650...
actually I won it from an online web site rating firm. My life changed quite a bit ever since
getting that 1.0 Mega Pixel digital camera with an autofocus lens and absolutely no
manual setting. I took a lot of pictures with that camera, sometimes taking pictures of the
same subject over and over again. Why? I learned that if I take a lot of pictures, a few
might turn out ok... that way I can throw the rest away. With this camera, I go to many new
places just to look for photo ops.
Then came the Uzi. I bought it after doing an extensive online research and never looked
back... at least never looked back at the Epson PhotoPC 650. I got the Uzi over a hear
and a half ago and fell in love with it... maybe this is the reason why I'm still single? A little
more than a year passed by before I picked up the D40z, which I have to say takes great
low light, portrait and macro shots. Just a few months ago, I picked up an Ezi as well. I still
have that old habit of taking a lot of pictures from the Epson days... but ended up keeping
most if not all of them.
I have a webpage that I update weekly every Sunday. It contains my favorite set of pictures
for each of my trips, or a theme I picked out of somewhere (notably the uzgroup posts):
