Photographs taken on a two week trip to Zhuhai China August 2008. I flew SFO to Hong Kong and took the Zhuhai ferry from Hong Kong. I visited Macau over the intervening weekend. Typhoon Nuri closed Hong Kong down on the day I was to return.
The airport train to Kowloon. Notice the led display showing progress toward Kowloon.
There are wide screen TVs showing the Olympics everywhere. Like this one in a shopping mall beside the Intercontinental Hotel.
The view across Victoria Harbor from Avenue of the Stars, Kowloon.
The red ferry is the hydrofoil to Macau. I took the ferry to Zhuhai.
Another shot from the ferry building.
It rained the day I arrived and on the day I left, but it was unusually sunny the two weeks between.
The Macau ferry speeding by.
This is coastal Zhuhai.
The docks, Zhuhai.
A look back to the ferry building as we leave.

After 5 years, many (most?) apartment buildings look like hovels. With no HOA, owners will not spend the money to repaint.
This could be anywhere.
Dust is as prevalent as the little garage shops shown here. I've seen huge truck tires in one shop; plumbing supplies in a 2nd.
