Pep, though I agree that this technique can be overused and is perhaps best confined to a sole gallery in which it becomes the theme, I think the bright yellow boot against the dull grey buildings provides justification for the image. I also think the composition is good. I suppose with all the yellow taxis in NYC it's very tempting to do it alot!

I see you have quite a few shots with partial saturation, like this one. Although it is fun to play with saturation, I don't really see the point. It seems to me that its only purpose is compensate for an inadequate compistion by pointing to the subject of interest all too obviously. You don't need it in this picture.

Really nice composition. Like the new and old boat thing. Not mad on the use of colour and b&w together though. Think it takes from the image.
