Nanton Lancaster Society Air Museum opened in 1992 to honour the Canadian and British flyers who served in the dangerous Bomber Command during World War II; more than 10,000 Canadians died in the aerial battle over Europe. It also pays tribute to the southern Alberta communities that provided bases for training Commonwealth pilots during the war.
