I went to pick up a friend from DTW today and they have very sensibly allocated an area for cars to park at the roadside, for people who are meeting people off flights to park and wait for a cellphone call to tell them to come to the arrivals area to pick them up at the curbside. It is much easier than going to park in the car park (aka the parking garage!) and avoids the security men who are constantly moving on cars that park where they shouldn't while they wait for passengers....
